What's On

Cape Cod Beach Information

Cape Cod has some of the best beaches in the world with over 500 miles of unspoiled coast and 115 beautiful sandy beaches. Whether you are looking for calm surf for families or strong surf for more active pursuits, you will find it all on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.

Cape Cod Bay beaches: The beaches on the “Bay side” have the least surf and children love to explore the tidal pools left when the tides go out for miles.
Nantucket Sound Beaches: Cape Cod beaches on the south side of the Cape, facing Nantucket Sound,  have small waves and are good beaches for all, including toddlers.
Atlantic Ocean beaches: The east-facing beaches are on the Atlantic Ocean and have larger surf and undertows. Children should be supervised, but teens and adults love it. The Cape Cod National Seashore has the largest stretch of beach, 40 miles of unspoiled sandy beaches on the Outer Cape.
Note: Most parking lots charge a daily fee until Labor Day. You can buy weekly or monthly stickers at the local town hall.
